"What should Morrison sleep in when we go camping?"
The question was simple. The answer, it turned out, was complicated.
We could not find a sleep sack that was easy to pack, safe to use with a newborn, and warm enough for nights in the Colorado backcountry.
It only took one uncomfortable weekend of camping (with Morrison bundled up in blankets and a snowsuit) before we decided to try making our own.
Summer 2018
Field Testing
The first prototypes consisted of down throw blankets cut into the shape of a sleep sack, with a half-zipper on the front.
They were roughly shaped, leaked feathers, and would only fit for a month or two.
Despite the flaws, Morrison slept better than ever, and we became determined to make it thicker, warmer, and adaptable to growing newborns.
