The Big Mo isn't just a sleeping bag—it’s a wearable hug built for s’mores, flashlight tag, and early morning tent snuggles. Designed for the "I can do it!" stage of life, this bag gives your toddler the freedom to use their hands and get in and out on their own while ensuring they stay toasty-warm once the stars come out.
Which Big Mo is right for you?
Toggle between our two insulation levels to find the perfect match for your next trip:
20° Down (The Backpacker’s Dream): Insulated with 650-fill power RDS-certified down. This is our warmest and most compact option, weighing only 11.6 oz. It compresses down to the size of a large water bottle, making it the gold standard for family backpacking or high-altitude camping.
40° Synthetic (The Versatile All-Rounder): Filled with cushy, hi-loft polyester fill. This is the "worry-free" bag—it stays warm even if it gets damp and is incredibly easy to wash after a weekend of s'mores. It's the ideal choice for summer car camping and humid environments.
Standard Features
Signature Adjustable Cuffs: Now standard on both the 20° and 40° models! These fold-over cuffs allow toddlers to use their hands to read books or hold a flashlight, then flip closed to seal in heat once they drift off.
Kick-Proof Design: Unlike traditional rectangular bags that toddlers slide out of, the Big Mo is worn like a cozy suit. It stays perfectly positioned all night, ensuring no 3:00 AM wake-ups because the blankets fell off.
Two-Way "Easy-Vent" Zipper: Zips from both the top and bottom. Need to cool down warm toes or check a pull-up? Just unzip the bottom while keeping their core cozy.
Built to Last: Made with a durable PFAS-free 100% Ripstop Nylon shell that resists snags and spills while remaining soft against the skin. Backed by our lifetime warranty.

Our down-insulated sleeping bags use 100% RDS-certified down, which guarantees that our down comes from animals that are humanely raised, and never live-plucked or force-fed.
Going synthetic? Our synthetic fill is lofty, cozy, and performs better than down when it gets wet.

Toddlers need gear that can match their energy. That’s why NYT Wirecutter officially named the Big Mo the "Best for toddlers in cold weather."
Tailored for kids 18 to 36 months, it balances thermal efficiency with room to move. Wirecutter loved that the bag widens generously at the bottom to let "little feet kick and wriggle" while keeping them "superwarm and snuggly" down to the toes.
Warm Hands, No Mittens Needed: Features adjustable cuffs that close completely to protect little hands on extra-chilly nights.
Lightweight & Packable: Weighing under a single pound, it packs down into a tiny included stuff sack so it won't weigh down your pack.
Built to Last: High-quality zippers and a rugged rip-stop nylon shell mean this bag is tough enough to survive as a family hand-me-down (or traded back into us for resale).
Pack the Fun.
Ultra-light and ultra-warm, yes. But Big Mo sleeping bags are so much fun to wear, they won't want to take it off.
Adjustable Cuffs
Hands out during the day. Hands in at night.
Every Morrison Outdoors sleeping bag has adjustable open-and-close cuffs for total hand freedom.
Easy to Pack
Whether you get choose goose down or synthetic fill, the Big Mo Sleeping Bag packs down small for easy carrying.
Weigh Your Options
While the Big Mo 40 with synthetic insulation has all the snug you need for summer camping, you can save weight and camp in colder temperatures with the down-filled Big Mo 20.

Wonderful bag. Our toddler can toss and roll all he wants and stays cozy. We also love that the arms let’s us have a gradual changeover from evening hangout in the tent to sleeping.

When I was getting my son ready for our first ever backpacking trip, I did a lot of thinking and researching on how to handle his sleeping situation since he's barely a year old at this point. I came across Morrison Outdoors and their fantastic sleep sack/wearable sleeping bag. I ordered the synthetic (so I didn't have to worry about it getting wet from rain or condensation and losing its warmth) in 18-24 month size (my son wears 18 month clothing), and it fit him very well. It's big enough for him to grow into and hopefully use for more than one season, but it was not overly big to the point where I'd be worried about suffocation. He slept nice and warm in it during the two nights we spent on trail in the mid-30s. 10/10 recommend to any parent looking for a way to keep their toddler warm without the hazard of suffocation! The only con about the bag is that it is bulky, and even in a compression sack, the bulk cannot be reduced much. I ordered the used bag, and received one that looked brand new. I'm very pleased with my purchase and will definitely be back to trade up or buy another one when I need it next!

Loving the sleeping bag! It makes life so much easier when you don’t have to push your kids bag into the bag all night long… planning to buy one for the bigger kids (and myself?) too!

We’ve had the small and now going on to our second ski season in the Blue bag!

We took our 15 m.o. daughter camping for the first time 2 weeks ago and this sleeping bag was incredible! She slept soundly through the night in 40-degree weather with minimal layers underneath. She usually hates when her hands are covered but didn't mind at all ion this cozy sleeping bag. We couldn't recommend this sleeping bag anymore!

J'adore ! Mon bébé est bien et cela rend les nuits de camping beaucoup plus agréables.

The only brand I trust to keep my children warm and toasty in the front country and backcountry. These sleeping bags have allowed us to venture deep in the backcountry with our first son! And this summer we can't wait to do it all over again with our second! Thank you Morrison Outdoors for the memories and for all the other adventures we will realize with the help of your sleeping bags.

We bought this Big Mo sleeping bag for our son. It can be quite cold in our bedrooms during fall, winter and spring. With this sleeping bag he sleeps like an angel. And so do his parents. We love it!
Marlon H.5/5Verified
Such an awesome piece of kit! It means that we can take our wee man camping, even in the depths of winter and not worry that he's going to be cold. He's so snug and cosy. Well worth the money to allow us to continue our family camping trips!

Honestly such a great purchase. We used this for a week long camping trip in Glacier National Park. It kept my almost 18 month old plenty warm and very comfortable in her pack and play. She could roll around easily and I didn’t worry about her airflow at all. I debated between sizes because she is small for her age. I’m happy I stuck with the bigger size. She has room to grow but it wasn’t too big that I worried about her head slipping. I rolled the sleeves once and they stayed rolled all night. Definitely recommend!

We are keen hikers here in NZ and after having our first child we didn't want him to miss out on the annual trip we do. We were slightly nervous about camping and staying in huts during the middle of winter with temperatures reaching a low of -4 and making sure he was warm overnight. This sleeping bag was magic. He was almost too hot with a couple of merino base layers on aswell we even had to take some off a layer during several nights. Highly recommend the -20 down bag!

Ive just return from a 2 night backcountry with my 13month. We have her in the big Mo and it was just what we needed. Its currently a bit big, however the neck is the right size so she wont slip inside the sleeping bag, she was warm and was able to sit up and even stand in it. The ability to flip the sleeves so her hands stayed warm was a plus. Knowing shes warm, comfortable and able to breath gives me peace of mind especially when there are a million things to plan and consider when backpacking with your little one.

Our toddler slept incredibly well in this sleeping bag! The color is absolutely adorable, and it looks so cozy and comfortable. The quality is excellent and feels very durable. We're extremely happy with this sleeping bag and would highly recommend it to other parents!

Baby girl slept so well in her 20°F Big Mo on a 30°F spring night in Wisconsin. I was so worried about her being cold, but she slept better than the rest of us! Not bad for her first night camping.

Love these sleeping bags for camping!
Super warm and nice quality, my girls have used them on many adventures. The Morrison outdoors team was incredibly helpful with their support during a warranty inquiry as well.

Warm and cozy and so so cute!

We have not used it yet, for future adventures. I can immediately tell it was made with intention and of good quality. I am confident it will serve us well.

Super warm and cosy sleeping bag perfect for our daughter. We went up to stay in a hut in the snow last month. Such a relief to have the warm down bag, definitely worth it!

This sleeping bag is genius and the perfect companion for our nearly two year old on our Norway trip for one month. It is super high quality and very light. It has two zips so little one can have his feet free when it's warm and I appreciate that it has arms to keep him cozy and no hood, as our son does not like hoods. He is nearly two and I am sure it will still fit him next year. This has been the best purchase if you plan outdoor camping with kids and we used it in temperatures between 7-18 degrees at night. It took a few weeks to come from the states to the UK, but this is normal due to customs. I would highly recommend the product and the shop and will probably order the seize up when he is older due to the high quality material and endurance.

The sleeping bag looks like really good quality and we’re looking forward to using it. However, I don’t think I would buy again from this company until they find a better way to ship to the EU. I paid 75€ for the sleeping bag, 14€ for having it shipped to Spain (no complaints this far because of the long distance), and then had to pay 28€ extra for import tax. Really sad as I really like their product.

My toddler loves her sleeping bag so much, that on the nights it was too hot to use, she had to LOUDLY and ANGRILY express her disappointment to the entire campsite. As a mom, I rate the meltdowns 0/5, but the sleeping bag 6/5.
Victoria T.5/5Verified
We took our 13mo camping and this sleeping bag was perfect for the chilly PNW spring overnight lows.
Kaley W.5/5Verified
The sleeping bag is fantastic and gives us peace of mind when we’re camping in BC. My son slept in it plus merino when it got down to 6 degrees outside and he had the best night’s sleep he’s ever had - he woke at 7.30am! Love this sleeping bag!
Rebecca H.5/5Verified
Lovely cosy sleepsack in a beautiful colour, but lost a star due to unexpected customs issues (we are in the UK) - still not sure why it got held at customs and charged us an extra £48 to receive it, bit of a shock!

We are anxiously awaiting our first trial of the Big Mo! It is high quality and came quickly. We waffled between getting the big or small size as our son is only 12 months but a big boy, we wanted to get the most use out of it. We appreciate that the neck is nice and small (but flexible and stretchy) so that it will fit our son this summer and for a few more.

After my daughter outgrew her first Morrison sleeping bag it was a no-brainer to get her the next size up. Great quality, warm, and leagues ahead of anything else I’ve seen for toddlers!
Christopher M.5/5Verified
The sleeping bag itself is great. Unfortunately I followed the wash instructions which said to cool dry with tennis balls in the dryer. The sleeping sack is now stained yellow from the tennis balls. Such a shame. Very disappointed
Grace L.3/5Verified
I bought this for my granddaughter and was very pleased with the quality and lovely colour. It's yet to be used (hence the four star rating) but it's exactly what we were looking for and I couldn't find anything comparable elsewhere.
Janet S.4/5Verified
gift for great grandson; parents requested and cannot wait to use it on an adventurous journey with their babe!
Patricia E.5/5Verified
This made camping with our 1 year old so much less stressful! She stayed warm and toasty on those 40 degree nights and I didn’t have to worry about her!
Laura S.5/5Verified
My 20 month old never slept so well! It got cold overnight too and he was nice and warm. Fits really well.
Hannah H.5/5Verified
Baby will be very cozy when we go camping.
Denise D.5/5Verified
So happy with the service! The bag was sent to a different address and was redirected, but they sent it a second time without any trouble. Very kind. The bag is wonderful. We bought the synthetic one for our two year old so we can wash it. Looks like it will last a long time!
Mieke H.5/5Verified
I gave this sleeping bag to my grandson, now 6 months old. He hasn’t used it yet but I look forward to him using it when his parents think he’s old enough to go camping. I think it’ll be great.
